The mineralization autoclave is a novel reactive pressure vessel custom-designed to meet client specifications.
Whereas traditional autoclaved fly ash bricks utilize bottom ash, fly ash, and carbide slag as primary raw materials—supplemented with gypsum and other additives—through processes of material preparation, press molding, and high-pressure steam curing, this project innovates with two formulations:
100% solid waste-based composition
Solid waste + 5% cement blend
Post-molding, green bricks are transferred to the mineralization autoclave for curing via pressurized carbon dioxide (CO₂). This carbonation curing process triggers an exothermic reaction that generates stable carbonates, delivering dual advantages:
✅ Eliminates industrial steam consumption (vs. traditional steam curing)
✅ Enables permanent CO₂ sequestration
✅ Validated carbon-negative technology
